Dear residents of Lowdham
The Parish Council has very helpfully granted Lowdham Flood Action Group (FLAG) £20,000 towards Flood Blocks and Flood Barriers to help us reduce the impact of surface water flooding. This represents about half of what we need in order to have everywhere as protected as possible for the next two or three winters until the Flood Alleviation Scheme near Lowdham Grange comes in to full effect, accepting that nothing is completely foolproof.
FLAG want to use flood blocks and a type of flood barrier to reduce the volume of water approaching properties from both the Southwell Road and Nottingham Road areas.
We are seeking additional grants for the blocks we need to purchase. We have also opened a Just Giving Crowdfunding page in the hope that some villagers might be prepared to make a donation towards the £30,000 we need to find. If you felt able to help, we would be most grateful. You can visit our page at

Alternatively, you drop a cheque payable to Lowdham Flood Action Group at The Post Office counter in Main Street Lowdham.
If you would be able to volunteer to layout blocks and barriers, please can you let us know by ringing 07762320228 or emailing us at Lowdhamflag@gmail.com
