Like everybody else we at FLAG were surprised to get the Environment agency (EA) Alert for River Trent tributaries. The alert may have come to you as a phone call, email and/or text. This afternoon there was a short but very heavy downpour of rain, but thankfully there doesn’t seem much more in the forecast and the Cocker Beck has barely moved. You can check out local river levels and rainfall levels here check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels?q=Lowdham .The forecast is for low rain fall over the coming 24 hours

🌷🌷 Spring is definitely now springing! 🌷🌷Lowdham FLAG has been quiet for a few months as we have been fortunate with the weather this winter. Levels in the Cocker Beck remain relatively low for this time of year, despite recent rains. FLAG are grateful for those of you who have drawn our attention to debris and potential blockages in the beck. We would also like to thank those who have cleared blockages, including Gary Fowler. You can report drainage and flooding issues to the County Council at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/transport/roads/report-a-flooding-or-drainage-problem . 🚨📢 Newark & Sherwood District Council (NSDC) held a Planning Committee meeting on 20 April 2023. We have been informed that the District Council’s Planning Committee has given planning permission for the Lowdham Flood Alleviation Scheme (FAS), subject to certain conditions being met as detailed in the Planning Officer’s committee report. The FAS is the proposal to build a reservoir near the turning to Lowdham Grange. The reservoir would hold excess water in the event of heavy rainfall, therefore reducing the amount of water flowing into the Cocker Beck at Lowdham and potentially causing flooding in the village. FLAG are pleased that the scheme has got through this important stage. There are now just a few more stages to get through and then we hope that work on the site will be able to recommence.🤞🏻 🙏🤞🏻🙏The Environment Agency has said that they will keep residents updated on their Citizen’s Space page. You can view this at consult.environment-agency.gov.uk/east-midlands/lowdham/ . If you have any comments or enquiries, you can contact them by email at EMDenquiries@environment-agency.gov.uk, or you can telephone on 03708 506 506. 📱☎️🖥️You can find out more about NSDC Planning Services by visiting www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/your- council/planning-services/. This includes the option to contact them or provide them with feedback. 🖥️Lowdham FLAG remains ready to support the village in the event of a flood event and will help the Environment Agency to keep the village informed of progress. You can keep up with flood related events and information on our Facebook page and on our website at lowdhamvolunteers.org/ . You can contact us via email at Lowdhamflag@gmail.com.

🌧️🌧️ We’ve been getting more rain recently, but the Cocker Beck is still relatively low. You can check levels of rain and of the Beck on the Dashboard on our website lowdhamvolunteers.org/flooding-key-info2/ . Click on the top button for "Gov.uk check-for-flooding levels". The layout on this Gov.uk page has changed recently. There are now different tabs for river levels, rainfall, map etc as shown below. Click on the heading to bring up the different types of information that you’re interested in 🌧️☂️📊💻You can also click on our Lowdham weather station feed from the Dashboard page 📉📈📊☀️🌧️🌪️

Hi, is there any one out there, or any recommendations for someone who could PAT test the two pumps that Lowdham Flag hold?
