Videos – Laying the wreath
VE Day Celebrations are going on across the country. The Main VEDay 75 Website gives details explaining how this is happening within the Coronavirus lockdown. Key event are the 3pm toast on 8th May and 9pm Sing-along on the BBC. People are encouraged to dress their house up in festive bunting. You can download information at bbc.co.uk/makeadifference
Lowdham Celebrations are being organised by The Lowdham Parish Council and Salt & Light. More to follow.
Lowdham Volunteers will celebrate the occasion by embracing the All day – Stay at Home Street Parties and
- observing 2 minutes silence at 11am A moment of remembrance.
- live streaming on Lowdham Flag Facebook of Peter Cross laying a wreath at the Lowdham War Memorial at 11.05am
- 11.15am-12 noon The Royal British Legion live streaming
- 2.55pm Playing of the Last Post by solo buglers/trumpeters/cornet players
- 3pm The Nation’s Toast. “To those who gave so much, we thank you,” and Churchill’s Speech and address from the Prime Minister
- providing scones and sandwiches to elderly residents, delivered on the Rosie May pink TukTuk
- 6pm – Katherine Jenkins LIVE from the Royal Albert Hall.
- 9pm – Queen’s Speech.
- 9.15pm – We’ll Meet Again singalong.
