EA Main Scheme – Lowdham Volunteers

The current ‘Main Scheme’ is to build a reservoir between Lowdham and Lambley. The EA is the lead authority on the project.

There are regular monthly meetings with the EA, Lowdham FLAG and Lowdham Parish Council.
The final scheme has been drawn up and was submitted for planning to Newark and Sherwood District Council in November 2022. Details are available here. The previous design, submitted in November 2021 was withdrawn because it o longer me the Water Framework Directive requirements.
The proposed scheme would now start in Spring 2023 and be complete by Autumn 2024.
The approximate cost of the scheme is well over £10m and is financed primarily by the EA. This includes the additional £5m funding from the government announced by Robert Jenrick in July 2020 as part of the Green recovery package.
