There is some financial support for residents who were flooded, including in the 16 Feb 2020 flood. This was first announced by Robert Jenrick (Newark MP and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government ) in his letter of 19 Feb 2020. You need to apply for this support via Newark & Sherwood District council (link below). The support includes
- One off payment of £500
- 3 months rebate on rates
- A grant of up to £5,000 for flood defences (we are told full details of this has yet to reach N&SDC but that when it does then N&SDC will contact people who had applied for the £500.
In addition through Nottinghamshire County Council, you can apply for £120 (details in Robert Jenrick letter)
